85210. Know those numbers and join the Step UP & Go movement Thursday, June 12 for better health with five simple habits for home, work, school and the community for lasting lifestyle changes.
Who: Step UP & Go is a collaboration of community partners and volunteers to improve the health of the Spokane community: INHS, Premera, Spokane Regional Health District, YMCA of the Inland Northwest, Spokane Cardiology, Spokane County Medical Society, Empire Health Foundation, American Heart Association, Eastern Washington University and Providence Health Care. Community members are invited to get involved for an overall healthier Inland Northwest.
What: The free community-wide event offers speakers like Antony Chiang, Empire Health Foundation president. Break-out sessions include focused discussions based on interest groups: worksites, schools, child care, community and health care providers.
Attendees will also learn current obesity prevention strategies happening in the area, network with others passionate about healthier communities, receive toolkits to get involved and hear how the 85210 campaign plans to further its success of combating obesity and unhealthy lifestyles.
