STATEMENT - July 14, 2015
Inland Northwest Health Services (INHS) is deeply saddened by the news of retired INHS CEO Tom Fritz's death.
Tom was CEO of INHS for more than 16 years, and retired at the end of 2014 after leading the organization to unprecedented growth and success.
Under Fritz's visionary leadership, the non-profit organization extended its reach and customer base and has become one of the largest employers in Spokane County with more than 1000 employees. Once operating in the red, INHS achieved gross revenues of more than $200 million, signifying Fritz's visionary leadership and commitment to excellence when he came to INHS in 1998.
"Tom will be remembered for his years of service and commitment to the collaborative mission of INHS and the greater Spokane region," said Elaine Couture, chief executive officer of INHS. "Our hearts are heavy, and our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends."
"Tom always led with a strong conviction of doing what is right for the customer, the patient and the community," said Ron Wells, INHS board chair. "His commitment to quality, collaboration and innovation will be greatly missed."
Active locally, regionally and nationally, Fritz served on many boards including chairing Greater Spokane Incorporated, Spokane Area Economic Development Council and Spokane Workforce Development Council. Tom was the incoming board chair for the Association of Washington Business.
